Cuando hice fotografía callejera en Hannover, principalmente me encontré con tres barreras: Primero, problemas legales. Aquí, todos son dueños de su imagen, incluso en espacios públicos. Esto no me parece mal, pero hace que todo sea difícil. Segundo, la barrera del idioma. Esto dificulta acercarse a las personas. Y tercero, el Coronavirus, que hizo que las personas eviten todo tipo de contacto. Sin embargo, la incapacidad para capturar una historia durante el coronavirus convirtió a la fotografía callejera en mi mejor opción como fotógrafo.

Me encontré con personas agresivas, individuos que cubrían sus rostros y aquellos con los que tuve que discutir y evitar. Pero también encontré luces deportivas que dieron vida a estos días oscuros y extraños. «Eliminar la foto» se convirtió en una de las frases que más escuché durante estos meses.

Este es el resultado de varios meses caminando por las calles de Hannover durante el coronavirus.

Delete the photo

When I did street photography in Hannover, I mainly encountered three barriers: First, legal problems. Here, everyone owns their image, even in public space. This doesn’t seem bad to me, but it does make everything difficult. Second, the language barrier. This makes it challenging to get closer to people. And third, the Coronavirus, which made people avoid all kinds of contact. However, the inability to capture a story during the coronavirus made street photography my best option as a photographer.

I encountered aggressive people, individuals who covered their faces, and those with whom I had to argue and evade. But I also found spotlights that gave life to these dark and strange days. «Delete the photo» became one of the phrases I heard the most during these months.

This is the result of several months of walking the streets of Hannover during the coronavirus.
