Santiago Mesa is a 28-year-old documentary photographer born in Medellín, Colombia, interested in social issues, inequality, violence, among others.
He studied journalism at Eafit University, in Medellín. He also did a master’s degree in visual and plastic arts at the National University of Colombia and a documentary photography course at the University of Hannover in Germany.
He has worked for various national and international media. He participated in the New York portfolio review 2019, in the Risc training for journalists in conflict zones in Sao Paulo, Brazil, 2018 and was part of the XXXII edition of the Eddie Adams workshop. Winner of the Sony Photography Awards 2020 category Street photography.
